Surely thats the attitude of many people. They think they know, yet have no idea.
You shouldn't be reading about such people coz its a waste of time. The book people should be reading is the Quran. The Quran tells us mankind that we should worship our Lord, God and to not say things about Him that we are not sure about.

Don't get me started with these books and religions that foreigners came carrying in one hand and problems in the other. I recommend you read the Ayer's books. He asked questions that made you think. Which is the idea behind philosophy. One Jesuit scholar called him
""the most dangerous man in Oxford University". Many religions, fail to answer these basic questions.But to his credit, unlike many of us, he was willing to change, whenever he found satisfactory answers.
First, I have to clarify something. A J. Ayer was igtheist/ignostic. (i.e.
to him you have to define the word GOD before you try to find out whether God exists or not. It's a waste of time to do otherwise.) For most of his life that definition was never satisfactorily made.
Those are his ideas not mine or my beliefs either.. He also didn't believe in life after death after all how can one have feelings when they die? In short, for him there was no God, no after life.
But when his heart stopped for 4minutes (he choked on food) and he experienced a near death experience (NDE) he changed his mind and spoke about his experiences. He now felt there was life after death but still didn't go as far as publicly stating there was a God. His doctor much later claimed that "When Ayer recovered, he told me
'he saw the Supreme Being.'" This stunned a lot of people. It could very well be that the good doctor was lying. Who knows. The important thing is that he asked brilliant questions that should inspire everyone to ask similar questions. If our forefathers had asked those questions maybe the useless religious wars in Buganda, not to mention worldwide, would not have occurred.
Read the book, but keep in mind the context and history of what you are reading then make up your own mind.
