The South African born international reggae musician, Lucky Dube, was shot dead in front of his children in Johannesburg during an attempted car hijacking.

The incident took place just after 8pm on Thursday night when Dube went to drop off his son at his uncle's house in Rosettenville, southern Johannesburg. Two men approached him and opened fire.

"An injured Dube tried to flee but drove his grey Chrysler sedan into a tree and died on the scene. No further details were available as his son, who reportedly witnessed the incident, was still in shock." Reported the the Independent Online - a South African news portal.

Lucky Dube began his career by singing mbaqanga (traditional Zulu) music and recorded his first album with the Super Soul band in 1982. He later moved into reggae, producing 'Rastas Never Die' and 'Think About The Children' in 1984. His albums 'Slave', 'Prisoner' and 'Together As One' saw him gain global, recognition. Lucky Dube released his most recent album, Respect, in April 2007.

This is really avery barbaric behaviour and act of subversions which is happenning in Africa especially now in South Africa(Johannesburg)Such crimminals be brought to court of law and drastic steps/measures be awarded to accordingly.
Afria will never get another professional musician like Dube.
May his soul rest in eternal peace,AMEN

In the morning when i hear it from the one of the tanzania radio station(radio clouds fm)i get pressure in my heart about what i was hear - i was not believe it!

In real that is believable thing to me, right now am write this comment am half of believe about this!you know why?Because i feel the man(debe)ws man of all people so nothing cant make cruel thing to him like what happen.

I just imaging how the killer was.....he was so cruel peoples, why they do that?no answer indeed cause we like prisoners in knowing that secret issue!

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM FOR ALL THINGS HE DONE, FOR UNITY AFRICAN THROUGH HIS SONGS AND ALL OTHER - AS HE SING IN HIS SONG REMEMBER, I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM!

GOD BLESS HIM AND THE HAND OF GOD BE OVER ALL WHICH PARTICIPATE IN THAT MUDDER, AMIN.

Also i wish good for his family in which remain lonely as the chicks without hen, God bless him too in all ways they do and all things they touch and all friend they have.
